After heading into the locker room at the half with a 14-7 lead, Pardeeville stepped up its play in the final 24 minutes of action en route to its sixth straight victory with a 34-7 triumph over Dodgeland on Friday night in Pardeeville.
"I just think the guys found a lot more energy in the second half and quit turning the ball over," said Pardeeville head coach Mike Haynes. "We had a nice second half offensively and the defense played well the entire game."
Pardeeville got another big performance from its defense, which held Dodgeland running back Steve Schmidt to only 44 yards on 17 carries. The Trojans finished with just 63 rushing yards on the night. Schmidt entered the game as one of the conference's leading rushers with 879 yards on the season.
"The main thing for us was shutting down their running game," Haynes said. "We I don't want to give away any secrets, but this defense we run is really built against the wing-T. The wing-T has a hell of a time against this defense."
Pardeeville again used its running game to take control of the contest. Senior back Pat Banks scored three touchdowns and ran for 157 yards on 28 carries. Pardeeville also got a pair of TDs from Jamie Enger.
