UW WOMEN'S BASKETBALL: Badgers use late run to beat Milwaukee

An 8-0 run late in the game led the Wisconsin women's basketball team to a 64-55 win over UW-Milwaukee on Thursday night. The Badgers win their first road game of the season at the Klotsche Center in Milwaukee and improve to 2-0 on the season.

• Northern Illinois tight end and former Pardeeville High School athlete Reed Cunningham started the game but did not record a catch in his team's 26-20 victory over Ball State on Thursday at Huskie Stadium in DeKalb, Ill. It was the fourth straight win for Northern Illinois, who moves to 7-3 overall and 5-1 in conference play with the victory.

COLLEGE FOOTBALL: Area Alumni Gridiron Update

•Minnesota-Crookston starting tailback and former Lodi High School athlete Keith McBride carried 20 times for 74 yards and two touchdowns and caught four passes for 32 yards to finish with 106 total yards in the Golden Eagles' 39-33 loss to Upper Iowa on Saturday in front of 680 people at Ed Widseth Field, in Crookston, Minn. McBride had touchdown runs of seven and four yards and added one tackle. Crookston falls to 1-10 overall with the win and are last in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference North Division with an 0-6 record.
