COLLEGE FOOTBALL: Area alumni gridiron update

• Northern Illinois starting tight end and former Pardeeville High School athlete Reed Cunningham played but did not record a catch in the Huskies' 27-10 victory over Akron on Saturday at Huskie Stadium in DeKalb, Ill. Northern Illinois moves to 5-3 overall and 3-1 in conference play with the win.

• Northern Michigan starting linebacker and former Poynette High School athlete Nathan Yelk had a game-high 11 tackles, including two for a loss and recovered a fumble in Saturday's 31-19 loss to Grand Valley at Lubbers Stadium in Allendale, Mich. The Wildcats fall to 5-4 on the season with their second straight loss.

• UW-Oshkosh defensive tackle and former Portage High School athlete Dan Swanson had one tackle in Oshkosh's 44-35 loss to UW-Eau Claire on Saturday at J.J. Keller Field in Oshkosh. The Titans fall to 4-4 overall and 2-3 in the WIAC with the defeat.

• UW-Platteville defensive tackle and former Lodi High School athlete Cody Weber, along with defensive back and former Cambria-Friesland High School athlete George Katze, each had one tackle in Platteville's 31-28 overtime loss to UW-River Falls on Saturday at Ramer Field in River Falls. The Pioneers moved to 3-5 overall and 1-4 in the WIAC with the loss.

• UW-River Falls kicker and former Cambria-Friesland High School athlete Drake Klatt missed field goals of 40 and 46 yards, and averaged 53.7 yards on three kickoffs in a 31-28 overtime win over UW-Platteville on Saturday at Ramer Field in River Falls.

• UW-River Falls linebacker and former Poynette High School athlete Jake Erickson played, but did not have a tackle in a 31-28 overtime win over UW-Platteville on Saturday at Ramer Field in River Falls. UW-River Falls moves to 3-5 overall and 1-4 in the WIAC with the victory.

• Ripon College linebacker and former Westfield High School athlete Zach Floeter played, but did not have a tackle in Ripon's 38-17 victory over Grinnell College on Saturday at Rosenbloom Field in Grinnel, Iowa. Ripon College moves to 6-3 overall with the win.

• Minnesota State Moorhead punter and former Pardeeville High School athlete Patrick Haynes had five punts for an average of 29.6 yards, with a long of 44, and one punt downed inside the 20-yard line in Saturday's 47-0 loss to St. Cloud State at Alex Nemzek Fieldhouse in Moorhead, Minn. MSU Moorhead falls to 2-8 on the season with the loss.

• Minnesota-Crookston running back and former Lodi High School athlete Keith McBride had a team-high 20 carries for 27 yards and two catches for 16 yards in a 44-0 loss to Minnesota-Duluth on Saturday at Malosky Stadium in Duluth, Minn. The Golden Eagles fall to 1-9 on the season with the loss.

• Minnesota-Crookston running back and former Poynette High School athlete Brett Rice had one rush for 3 yards and one catch for minus-3 yards in a 44-0 loss to Minnesota-Duluth on Saturday at Malosky Stadium in Duluth, Minn.

• Lawrence University running back and former Portage High School athlete Ben Hartman had two carries for 0 yards in a 26-3 loss to Carroll University on Saturday at The Banta Bowl in Appleton. Lawrence falls to 1-7 on the season with the loss.

• Lawrence University athlete and Rio High School alumnus Alex Brewer played, but did not record a tackle in a 26-3 loss to Carroll University on Saturday at The Banta Bowl in Appleton.
