I would like to thank the Daily Register for printing my letter about our nation's ignorance and lack of thought into what harm we are creating in the world with our neglect and ignorance.
The Daily Register also printed a response to my letter, and well, that letter proves my point perfectly. My quote was written to make people see that we are a nation of immigrants or refugees and we stole this land from the native tribes. We have not one culture but the cultures of every nation, and that does not make us better than them; it makes us equal to them.
Mr. Christopher Schutz's letter goes on about the things this nation has done to help the world, and I did not say we didn't aid other nations. My message behind those words was to make people realize that we are no better than anyone else and any future leader is the child or grandchild of an immigrant or, as I stated, a child from another country.
And Mr. Schulz mentions he served this nation and how many people died by his weapon for no reason. We in this nation have no right to police the world, and every person killed by our soldiers is murder no matter who sent you there.
As for the United States creating the Internet, it has been my belief for years that the Internet is a burden and too many bad things were also created at that same time.
I also think it's funny he mentions freedom because we have some freedoms but we are no longer the free nation we were when this country was started and as the years go by we continue to lose those freedoms.
He mentions our currency as if it were gold itself, and if he would have thought before he spoke, he would have realized our currency was started and backed by the English and it is China that bought a part of our national debt. So does that not already put England and China above our greatness?
Oh, by the way, most of our technology is now being created by Japan and China.
This all boils down to one final statement: If we continue to think we are better than everyone, we will be attacked for such ideas and if we continue to act as though we are the only superpower, we will soon find that more nations are against us and we will have more deaths and burdens to deal with.
