BRIGGSVILLE - H. Gail Cottine, 71, of Briggsville, died Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2009, at St. Clare Hospital in Baraboo.
She was born Nov. 27, 1937, in Chicago to Bennett and Helen Koho Underhill. Gail grew up in the Lyndon Station area and graduated from Mauston High School. She moved to Briggsville in 1976 when she was united in marriage to Leo Cottine.
Gail worked for the city of Wisconsin Dells for more than 25 years. She loved horses, being outdoors, working in her garden, going for walks and traveling. She was active in her church, the Legion Auxiliary and helping others. Gail was also the town clerk for the town of Douglas.
Survivors include her husband, Leo of Briggsville; four children, Kim Madden of Sheridan, Wyo., Kelly Ludlow of Brandera, Texas, Mark (Eileen) Madden of Milwaukee and Kay Madden of Montello; four stepchildren, Nancy (Michael) Gerike of Baraboo, Betty Cottine of San Mateo, Calif., Janice Cottine of San Mateo, Calif., and Dale Cottine of Briggsville; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; five stepgreat-grandchildren; brother, Leo (Nancy) Bennett of Freeport, Ill.; two nieces; and two nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Briggsville United Methodist Church with the Rev. Barbara Bolz officiating. Burial will follow in Briggsville Protestant Cemetery.
Friends may call at the church from noon to 2 p.m. Sunday.
