OXFORD - Ruth Baljo, 86, of Oxford, died Thursday, June 11, 2009, at Divine Savior Extended Care in Portage.

Ruth was born Dec. 12, 1922, in Oxford, the daughter of Leon and Elsie Karow Reid, where she also grew up and attended schools.

In September 1946, she married James Baljo in Wisconsin Dells. Ruth was a member of the St. John's Lutheran Church Ladies Aid and Neenah Valley Memorial VFW Post 6003 Ladies Auxiliary of Oxford.

Ruth is survived by sons, Dennis (Marthetta) Baljo of Washburn, and Calvin (Susan) Baljo of Wisconsin Rapids; a daughter, Linda (James) Phillips of Grand Marsh; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and three special nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and a sister, Clara Labrenz.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Oxford, with the Rev. Brian Rohde officiating.

Burial will be at the Oxford Village Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church.

Oxford Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Oxford assisted the family with arrangements.
