WESTFIELD - Geneva M. Winkler, 84, of Westfield, passed away Saturday, June 6, 2009, at Hess Memorial Hospital, Mauston.
She was born Oct. 10, 1924, in Portage, daughter of William and Mildred Sybell Dewar. Geneva married Allie G. Winkler on Aug. 20, 1949, in Lake Villa, Ill. Allie preceded her in death Sept. 17, 2000. She enjoyed dancing, going to horse races, snowmobiling and was a member and treasurer of the Westfield Whitetrackers. Geneva volunteered her time with every election at the village of Westfield voting site.
Survivors include four children, Sharon (Brian) LeWellyn of Oshkosh, Allen (Patricia) Winkler of Richford, Doug (Sang) Winkler of Oshkosh, and Randy (Suzanne) Winkler of Harrisville; nine grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; one sister, Shirley Henningsen of Brooks; other relatives and many friends. Geneva was preceded in death by her parents; son, Gary Marshall; two grandchildren; one sister; and one brother.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Steinhaus-Holly Funeral Home, Westfield, with Pastor Barb Merwin officiating. Inurnment will be in Westfield East Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Wednesday from 9 a.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home.
