Portage police are investigating several reports of a person or people in a white car possibly videotaping children and leaving before being approached.

"If (you) see any activity with this kind of car, call the police right away," said Assistant Chief Kevin O'Neill. The number is 742-2171.

Police received reports of similar activity Saturday and Tuesday, O'Neill said.

Three 10-year-old children reported seeing a man, 30 to 40 years old, with facial hair, dark hair and glasses with a video camera. The man was in a white car - possibly a 2004 white Chevrolet Monte Carlo with tinted windows and detailing - possibly videotaping the children. When the children started to approach the car, the man drove away, police said.

The incident occurred Tuesday near the 900 block of Silver Lake Drive.
