Information is taken from the records of the Portage Police Department and does not represent a comprehensive list of police department activity. Each individual named in this report is presumed to be innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Between 7 a.m. Monday and 7 a.m. Tuesday, police responded to 44 calls.

Intersection of Thompson and Mullett streets: Police responded at 2:45 a.m. Saturday to a one-vehicle crash. The vehicle struck a utility pole and sign, coming to rest in the middle of the street, police said. A passenger received minor injuries, and the four-door Mazda received significant damage. Police are investigating the crash.

300 block of East Collins Street: At 3:30 p.m. Monday, police stopped a vehicle with an unreadable temporary tag. A passenger, Thomas W. Fudala, 18, of Montello, was arrested on tentative charges of possession of marijuana and two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia. He was taken to the Columbia County Jail.

1100 block of DeWitt Street and 200 block of West Oneida Street: Police at 9:47 p.m. Monday received two reports involving the same 15-year-old Portage boy. One report was that he had entered a house without permission and started yelling at the people inside. When confronted by police, the boy became uncontrollable and was taken to Divine Savior Healthcare, police said. The case will be referred to juvenile authorities with possible charges of trespassing, spitting on officers, disorderly conduct and battery to an officer.
