Two students and a 16-year-old Rio teen received minor injuries in a collision between a school bus and passenger car Wednesday morning.
A vehicle driven by Kristin D. Olson of rural Rio was attempting to pass a school bus on Highway 16 in Otsego Township at 8:18 a.m. Wednesday when the two vehicles collided, according to the Columbia County Sheriff's Department.
The school bus, driven by Kim Russell, 39, of rural Pardeeville, was transporting 25 children to summer school in the Rio School District. It ended up partially in a ditch.
Investigators believe the bus was completing a right-hand turn into a private driveway to pick up students when it was struck by the passenger car.
Two students inside the bus received minor bumps and bruises.
The incident remains under investigation.
The Columbia County Sheriff's Department, Rio Fire Department and Rio Ambulance Service responded to the scene.
