Between 7 a.m. Tuesday and 7 a.m. Wednesday, police responded to 28 calls, including an emergency mental health detention.

300 block of DeWitt Street: At 1:16 p.m. Monday, police took a report of the theft of alcohol, purchased for a wedding, from a storage area.

Rusch Elementary School, 117 W. Franklin St.: Police at 2:11 p.m. Monday took a report of the theft of a laptop computer. The theft occurred last week while students were on break, police said.

400 block of West Edgewater Street: Police at 10:11 a.m. Tuesday took a report of the theft of a digital camera, worth $200, from the glove box of an unlocked vehicle sometime overnight.

400 block of West Cook Street: At 12:31 p.m. Tuesday, police took a report of the theft of a stereo faceplate and binoculars from a vehicle sometime overnight.

200 block of West Cook Street: Police investigating a report of the theft of a vehicle at 5:24 p.m. Tuesday confronted the driver when the vehicle was returned. The driver, a 15-year-old Neshkoro boy, was referred to juvenile authorities on tentative charges of obstructing an officer, operating after revocation and possession of tobacco products.

Wauona Trail: Police responded to a report of a fight in the street at 7:44 p.m. Tuesday and arrested Kyle R. Sussek, 22, of Baraboo, on tentative charges of disorderly conduct and possession of a switchblade knife; and Jeffrey B. Gilbert, 23, of Coloma, on tentative charges of disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and bail jumping. Each was taken to the Columbia County Jail.
