Marquette County Health Department and the School District of Westfield have made the decision to close Oxford Elementary School at noon today. Classes will not be held Tuesday or Wednesday in an effort to reduce the spread of the H1N1 (Swine) Flu. Classes will resume Nov. 2. At that time the status of the school will be evaluated.

Parents are encouraged to keep ill children home to reduce exposure to the general population. In addition to ensuring all children's health, officials are strongly discouraging sleepovers, parties or get-togethers. Children should remain home for at least 24 hours after they no longer have a fever, or signs of a fever, without the use of fever-reducing medicines. H1N1 symptoms include cough or sore throat with fever.
