A Wisconsin Dells woman faces 10 years in prison in a stabbing attack that sent another woman to the hospital for emergency surgery.
Angelica L. Davis, 43, was ordered held on $2,500 cash bail after an initial appearance Friday in Columbia County Circuit Court.
Davis is charged with felony aggravated battery with use of a dangerous weapon and misdemeanor disorderly conduct.
According to a criminal complaint, Davis stabbed a woman who was visiting Davis' home Wednesday evening with her husband and children.
Davis had gone out with the woman, her children and her spouse and was returning to Davis' residence when Davis, intoxicated, became belligerent, the complaint stated.
The complaint said Davis attacked the woman, scratching her face and bruising her neck. When the woman turned to leave the residence, Davis stabbed her in the back with a knife.
The woman was taken to Divine Savior Healthcare, then transferred to the University of Wisconsin Hospital, where she had surgery to repair the 1-inch wound.
Davis told authorities she stabbed the woman to "ward (her) off," according to the complaint.
Davis is scheduled for a pretrial conference Aug. 21.
